If you were asked, ‘What does it mean to be healthy? Each of us would come up with different answers. We all have our version of what optimum health looks like.
Sometimes, there is a difference between health and appearance. Commonly health is judged on appearance. Everyone is different. Someone may be bigger or smaller than one’s peers. But size doesn’t necessarily indicate their level of health. There is a lot we don’t know and cannot see on the outside.
These days we’re bombarded with many ideas of what it means to be ‘healthy. There are stereotypical ideas presented to us which is a dangerous approach.

But what does it mean to be ‘healthy’? Is it going to the gym every day? Having glowing hair and skin? Drinking green juices? Walking 10,000 daily steps? How about wearing jogging shoes from dawn until dusk?!
Regarding your holistic health, your health provider is the best person to advise you on what you must do for optimum health.
Good health of mind, body, and soul, whatever it may look like for you, begins with a healthy mindset. If you change your mindset, you’ll change your life.
Nothing is more important than looking after yourself. If you don’t look after yourself, who will? Make it a goal to maintain your energy, fitness and well-being. And then you will maintain your daily responsibilities.

What is a Healthy Mindset?
A mindset is a set of beliefs, attitudes, and assumptions that shape you. It’s how you perceive and respond to the world around you.
Decide?—?A healthy mindset is deciding that healthy living is about Asking yourself …
a. Decide how can I make positive and informed decisions about my health?
b. Decide how can I take responsibility for what goes into my body?
c. Decide what can I do to boost my mind and spirit (the essence of you)?
Do- A healthy mindset is about taking charge of your health. It’s about taking consistent action upon what I have decided to care for myself.
Maintain- A healthy mindset is about maintenance. How can you adapt my mind, body, and spirit as I grow and change?
Your mindset influences your thoughts, behaviours, and actions. You can profoundly impact your success and well-being with a healthy mindset.

Growth Mindset Vs Fixed Mindset
A growth mindset focuses on the potential for personal development and improvement.
On the other hand, a fixed mindset emphasizes innate abilities and limitations.
A growth mindset is associated with greater resilience, creativity, and problem-solving skills. But people with fixed mindsets may need help to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
You can “cultivate” a growth mindset through regular practice and effort. When you adopt a growth mindset, you enhance your abilities. You become more effective in achieving your goals, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life.
A fixed or growth mindset can restrict you from reaching your goals.
A fixed mindset is when people believe their talents, skills and abilities are “fixed” and cannot be developed further.
Individuals with a fixed mindset avoid challenges. They say they can’t learn new skills. They readily accept their limitations and failures and may feel threatened by criticism. People with a fixed mindset believe that their failures define their worth.
Conversely, a growth mindset sees challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.

People with a growth mindset cherish feedback. They believe they can improve and achieve their goals through change, hard work and effort.
No matter your age, you can cultivate a growth mindset if you apply yourself.
It’s important to note that a mindset is not an innate quality or a personality trait. Mindset is like a Muscle?—?as you use it, it grows.
For example, understanding and intentionally developing a growth mindset can lead to greater resilience, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. These qualities can benefit you significantly in your personal and professional life.
Whatever mindset you adopt will shape your beliefs and attitudes. It is your mindset that ultimately influences decisions and actions. And because it influences your decisions and actions, it directly impacts your well-being.
Remember, nothing is more important than looking after yourself. Make it your goal to maintain your energy, fitness and well-being. And then you will keep up with your daily responsibilities. So, Change your mindset, and you’ll change your life.
